To choose or not to choose...

Our Minister of Education, whose name I don't want to remember..., gave us some food for thought this week. He suggested studying at the university, not what we like, but whatever would be more likely to help us find a job in the future. Shall we spend four (or more) years studying something we hate just because it will be  easier to find a job? And a job we probably won't like either... What's the important thing in life, Mr Wert? Being happy or making money?
My dear students, I want to know what YOU FUTURE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS think...

  1. In my view, it's so important that your job can turn into a hobbie. When you are working, you should be enjoying what are you doing! In our life, it's important to be happy and make your dreams come true, but personally I think we shouldn't be materialistic. We have to do activities which make us feel happy and always think that it is possible to live a simpler life. When we go the university, our election about what we want to study is esencial!! The fact of not being certain of your university degree could make you give it back because you feel that you are bored and you are not interested in what you are studying. For example, I love animals and I want to be a vet because I'm happy and I feel lucky when I'm lookin after my pets. If I could specialize, I would like study animal neurology or animal therapy.

  2. No comments. If I have something clear in my life is that nobody is going to take off my dreams, revoke my privileges, my aims and to prevent me from being happy. And Wert can say what he want.

  3. I think it´s important making money because without money it´s more difficult live but in the other hand it´s important we like our job because we have to work in the same job all the life. We have to be confident and choose our job very well

  4. This is an interesting matter to discuss. Nowadays we live a difficult situation, the crisis, and it`s really easy say we rather be happy than earn a lot of money, but... What is happiness? How is someone happy? Studying a career that then hasn`t got job? At the moment of truth a person who has a family, for example our parents, you believe that if they hadn`t a job, if they don`t earn money, they would be happy? You believe people who have lost their jobs are happy? We are happy with our computers, our mobiles, our houses, our food, our clothes, our make-up (girls)...This is the reason to think in the future, to find a job, although we like less. We should study a career we like but that career help us find a job in the future, because a person who has finish his career and hasn`t got job isn`t happy. In my opinion we are really materialist, but this is the truth. In conclusion, we should study something we like and something practical (although we like less) because in the future we will like have a house, a car, food, clothes...and we need money, we need a job (not only be happy) My advice be useful, like this probably we are going to have a job and we are going to be happy!

  5. I know you're waiting for my comment haha. About this topic, I think everyone should study what you like, because in the future you will work on something related to your career. Nowadays to be happy is necessary have a job you like. So I'm totally against with our Minister of Education. For example: I¡m going to study Biochemistry because I love it and I would like to work in a lab.

  6. I think is more important study something that you like than study something that you don't like although you can earn a lot of money or have a job. Studying something that you like is the best form that a person have to find a job, besides this job could do that you work better. Moreover, nowadays it is very important have a job because there are a lot of people unemployed so have a job that you like is very important.
