Meet Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is a well-known English chef. He's famous for his television shows, cookbooks and, more recently, his campaign to improve unhealthy diets and poor cooking habits in the United Kingdom and the United States. To be honest, this is really difficult to understand, so you'll need to listen to it many times. Jamie's a real challenge for you, you need to get used to the way he speaks because he speaks very quickly. I want you to write down at least 15 words he says and how old he is. Good luck!

  6. "No one really likes to change until the pain of not changing is worse than change itself". Jamie talks about food and changing the way we eat. I decided that I had to change the way I teach English because it would be better for my students and better for me, even if it means working longer hours and trying to innovate. We all learn new things every day, you learn from me and I learn from you. This blog is part of that process of change. I'm so PROUD OF you and I'm really OPTIMISTIC ABOUT your future. I'm also becoming very FOND OF your comments. Don't be AFRAID OF making mistakes. You'll be very GOOD AT it if you practise. You must change the way you see English. English is not a subject, it's a tool which will be very useful for you, no matter what you study at university.
Congratulations to all of you!! :·)

  11. Thank you so much Encarni!! If it weren't for the students, this blog wouldn't be possible and I wouldn't spend time thinking about what to post. But they are really good and the ones who take part know that this isn't compulsory, although they'll get 0'25 for IT as you know well...

  13. fiuuuuuu!!!!I can`t understand him very good jaja. How can he speak as that? He speaks very fast. I'm going to try to understand him but... He says I'm Jamie Oliver, I'm from England, I'm thirty four years old and I'm a chef. Teacher, I think that He talks about changes, because in the begining he says "Changing anything is very difficult". I'm not sure but I think He talks about the changes food has had. He says that now We can learn cooking by TV but a few years ago, we couldn't watch TV and we couldn't watch cooking programmes. This is my theory jajaja.

  14. Hello teacher! :)
Understand this man is very difficult because he talk very fast, but he always repeat the word again and again, por example change. He´s a chef and he has got thirty-four years old. I have understood something that four years ago was more difficult, because now with the TV is easier because you learn more because the TV is visual and verbly. Teache the next time , you put videos more easier for us.
    See you tomorrow!
